Movement Meditation: RIP Gabrielle Roth

“Dance is the fastest, most direct route to the truth.”  ~ Gabrielle Roth

Noted musician, author, recording artist, philosopher, shaman of transformation, and beloved dancer, Gabrielle Roth, has died.

Founder of Raven Recordings and The Moving Center School, creator of the 5Rhythms™ movement system, and with 20 albums of percussive-centered dance music to her credit, she was also on the faculty of the Kripalu and Esalen Institutes, as well as a regular teacher at The Omega Institute.

“Dancing the 5Rhythms® is a practice… a dynamic way to both workout and to meditate in the same breath…. They teach us that life is energy in motion.” ~ Gabrielle Roth

5Rhythms™ – It¹s a map to set us free to explore the life dance of moving and being moved. We come to the Wave to be held, heartened, informed, lightened and inspired by and through our personal and collective creativity. We dive in to realign body, heart and mind, to re-member body and soul, and to reconnect body to spirit, flesh to breath. We dance to become one.

“To sweat is to pray, to make an offering of your innermost self, to create your own prayer beads. Sweat is holy water, pearls of liquid that release your past, anointing all your parts in a baptism by fire. Sweat burns karma, purifying body and soul; sweat is an ancient, universal form of self-healing, whether done in the gym, sauna or the sweat lodge. I do it on the dance floor. The more you dance, the more you sweat. The more you sweat, the more you pray. The more you pray, the closer you come to ecstasy.” ~Gabrielle Roth

We salute you and your wisdom!

Invite your Self to dance and find your rhythms today. Surrender! ♥
